Craigslist is a combined network of online services which features several classified advertisements like housing, personals, jobs, internships and certain specific services like community, gigs, pets categories, wanted/ sale/ barter/ services. As the network grew in proportion, Craig Newmark decided to run the listing full time and gave up his job as a software engineer. By the year 2000 it had 9 staff members.

Craigslist and New York foundation is a non - profitable organization under section 501(c) 3. Certain events are produced through online basis with a view to help the emerging leaders. The main objective of Craigslist is to gain adequate visibility and establishment, to develop the necessary skills and knowledge needed for long term success and to connect the people with industry resources. They neither offer fund nor involve in promoting the individual organizations.
