Sign of the Times: A punchy Prince film shot in Rotterdam and Minnesota, characteristics thirteen numbers, some overhead photography and lots of bump and grind from both genders. Stolen to some degree by megastar drummer Sheila E. Cast includes Prince, Sheila E., Sheena Easton, Dr. Fink, Mike Weaver, Levi Seacer Jr., Wally Safford, Gregory Allen Brooks, and Boni Boyer. Adios, Sabata: A gunslinger becomes involved with Mexican revolutionaries. He helps himself to a box full of gold during the voyage. Adios Sabata (with Brynner rather than Lee Van Cleef) was titled Indio Black till dubbed and re-titled for U.S. viewing. Cast includes Yul Brynner, Dean Reed, Pedro Sanchez, and Gerard Herter. Directed by Blunt Kramer (1970-Western-l04 minutes)
Mrs. Henderson Presents: The widowed Dench plans to affirm her new found liberty by purchasing a London show, The Windmill, and striking on the notion of orchestrating nude magazine. With the approaching of WW2, the show becomes a refuge for cadets and battle-worn Londoners. Cast includes Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins, Can Youthful, Christopher Visitor, Kelly Reilly, Thelma Barlow, Anna Brewster, and Rosalind Halstead. (103 minutes, 2005)
The Royal Tenenbaums: Depicted by Alec Baldwin, the no good Hackman dropped his spouse and 3 prodigy youngsters long ago, however now the need to make up lost time is apparent, especially since he's flat broke. Ranting comedy has similar likable, offbeat attributes as the film makers' Bottle Rocket. Cast includes Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Bill Murray, and Danny Glover. (108 minutes, 2001)
Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. The original title, The Bubble, was far less deceiving: there are no foreigners and no "invasion" in fact, and not much enthusiasm, either. Cast includes Filmed in widescreen Space-Vision. Cast includes Michael Cole, Deborah Walley, and Johnny Desmond. (91 minutes,'96)
Prom Night: This is about exacting revenge on the boys who were accountable for the mortality of a little girl 6 years before. Not the poorest of its type, although that's nothing to boast about. Cast includes Leslie Nielsen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Casey Stevens, Antoinette Bower, and Robert Silverman. (91 minutes,'80)
Four Brothers: The rough and rugged Mercer brothers have just found out that there adoptive mother has been murder. The four men gather back at home to decide what to do. They soon start coming to the streets of their youth to track down the killer.
Alakazam the Great: Japanese-made animation is excellent for entertaining the kids. The tale is focused around the supernatural baboon's ambitious ventures, from a bullfight in the pit of a volcano to a mythical battle with Hercules. Cast includes Frankie Avalon, Arnold Stang, and Sterling Holloway. (84 minutes,'61)
The Barretts of Wimpole Street: Handsome, well-performed, and most amusing MGM production of classic romance between Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning in'th century England. Director Franklin redid this 2 years later. Cast includes Norma Shearer, Fredric March, Charles Laughton, and Ian Wolfe. (110 minutes,'34)
