So let's examine some ways that you can get control over your life as it is today, and lessen the bouts of anxiety so in turn you can reduce the number of embarrassing times of profuse sweating that plague your day. One of the most effective ways of getting your life into a manageable pattern is to have a running schedule of some sort, so you know how your time is to be allotted during the weeks and what you have to get done in a timely way. That way, when something unexpected is suddenly thrown into the mix, you won't collapse under the stress of it all and suddenly have an attack of anxiety sweating. And how about getting some exercise on that schedule too. There is nothing better for your peace of mind than to be fit physically and to feel good, not only about the way you look but actually feel good healthwise. Another good thing to try is biofeedback. This trains your mind and body to respond to commands you give it so if you are in the throes of a stressful set back, you can calm down, reduce your heart rate, and regulate your breathing by simply talking to yourself and bringing your stress level down so the sweating is not triggered.
The next step in trying to control anxiety sweating is to get your life in general under control. Don't let your finances get out of whack to the point that you can't bear to look at the desk with its mound of bills and dun letters and as a result your heart pounds and you chew your fingernails and you sweat. And your work schedule. Balance the hours needed to be spent at work with the hours needed to be spent at home. Life keeps on trucking and you will miss out on a lot as well as ruin a lot of clothes with unnecessary bouts of sweating because you let work control your total life and not just be a part of it. And have a schedule of what needs to be done when you are home. Don't keep putting off jobs around the house; work at them on a regular basis and you will see how less stressed your life will be in a very short time.
Another factor that can cause unbelievable stress in your life is your relationships with other people. Are you dating, engaged, married, divorced, widowed, totally alone, surrounded by family, working with people you like, or working with folks that make your life miserable? Depending on how you interact with the people that surround you in life, is how your body is going to stress out every day. If your marriage is not what you thought it would be and you are having second thoughts but you don't want your better half to know what you are thinking, you sweat. If you have decided to take the plunge and buy that ring and take that step into matrimony, you sweat. You head off to work determined to tell Sally what you think of her because you can't stand the way she always whines about her job and uses you as her sounding board, you sweat. So what to do. Take control. Evaluate what would be the best move for you to make in the circumstances, and stick to it. Don't waffle. Waffling causes more anxiety sweating than any one person needs to have to deal with, and it will drag you down in the long run. Take the bull by the horns, face whatever it is that is making you stress out, and take it on. You may get whacked big time, but it's far better than quivering in a corner in a pool of sweat.
So what actually happens when the sweating bouts start. Why does stress trigger something like that and is there anything we can do to stop it. Well, think about it this way. Back to our little discussion about the cavemen; when humans were first developing and trying to find their way through history, they were equipped with only two ways to react to a stressful situation. They could either stand up and fight and their bodies chemically revved up for that; or they could run like hell for the nearest spot of safety, and likewise their bodies revved up for that too. So, since genetically we are not much farther along the scale than the cavemen, we suffer the same reactions when we are stressed. Our adrenal glands pump out adrenaline to rev us up whether we want to fight or run, and when we overload our bodies with all those chemicals, we sweat. So when stress comes along and we react like the cavemen did because we don't have control of the situation, then anxiety sweating is the end result.
Okay, it's one thing to talk about gaining control of all this stress that surrounds us, but how to do it. Well, one very good way that produces good results is to get more involved with the natural world around us, and let that part of our psyches react to the positive feelings that being out with Mother Nature can produce. Be aware of your surroundings as you make yourself available to the wonders that exist in the great outdoors, and let that positive reaction flow into your system and begin to reduce the stress level that exists within you. Just taking a simple walk will do the trick, but you must be involved with your surroundings and not just stroll along. You must listen, watch, smell and take in all the wonderful parts of the natural scene, and put aside all the techno-babble that can confound your every day life such as cell phones, pagers, or other technical toys so you can truly concentrate. As you become more and more proficient at communing with nature, you will find that your stress levels will markedly decrease and so will your bouts of anxiety sweating.
All being said and done: life is full of excitement, happiness, danger, and stress. You are the one that needs to take control and keep your life in balance so that the negatives don't outweigh the positives. When there is too much negativity in your life and you have a hard time seeing the silver linings, then it is time you took stock of your way of living every day and examine it closely to see where you can make changes for the better and can make it a more positive experience. Opportunities are all around you and are there for the taking; you just need to recognize them, and recognize that you need to make changes that will allow you the freedom to grab some of them before they all pass you by. Life is one big parade, and there is no better way to live it fully than to stop standing on the sidelines with your anxiety sweating consuming you, and step into the line of march, get in step, feel the rhythm of the positive drum beat, free yourself of worries, and go for it.
