3 Dimensional Animation can be simply explained as the art of creating moving objects which are shown from a 3 dimensional perspective to the viewer. The fact that 3D animation can show objects in a more realistic way makes it a superior technology in comparison with traditional 2D Animation. This great technology is not only used in motion pictures, but also in architectural visualisations, computer games, simulations, computer models, special effects and in anyway a 3D presentation or communication tool is developed.
These wonderful works are brought to us through a process of 3D Modeling, Texturing, Animation and 3 Dimensional Rendering. 3D Modeling is a process of virtual sculpting. Once a 3 Dimensional model is finished, it goes through the texturing which add the detail that makes the objects and characters so realistic and related to our lives. It controls how things look and is just like an artist painting into a sketch outline.
The basic principles of animation making the creation of the illusion of motion possible generally remain the same in one form or another as in traditional animation. They have been modified into Key-framing and Motion Capture techniques, which are digitalized, effective and thoroughly automated animation methods. Key-framing involves setting up two frames or key positions representing a unit of animation. The illusion of the motion is created by the computer by automatically filling the gaps with in-betweens.
The principal idea behind the Motion Capture technique is to portray the emotions, expressions and movements of a Three Dimensional animated character as realistically as possible by recording of movements of real actors and models, and translating them into a digital model. 3 Dimensional Animation only uses a much faster frame rate than the conventional animation, which are about 24 frames per second, in order to sustain the realism of movement and to create an effective impression.
Many people are inspired to pursue a career in animation, but often end up only with a casual course which only helps them learn how to work with different software which does not ensure proficiency in Three Dimensional Animation. Schools like Max the Mutt Animation School and School of Visual Arts California can provide the appropriate formal education and technical facilities that are fitting to a professional animator. It is always best to enroll with an Animation school which focuses on quality.
To excel as a 3D computer animator, if you are capable of original and creative work. You should be mastering essential graphic programs like Flash and Photoshop. You should have a thorough idea of 3D Modeling and should be able to master the function of Avars, or Animation Variables,, the basic structures that make up life-like characters in an animation.
You have to know how to use colors in an effective manner and an arts degree will be considered desirable for the job. You should also be aware of crucial elements like rendering, materials and lights to give your animation the power to keep the audiences attention. It is attention to these details which will make sure that 3D animated objects created by you look more realistic.
Of course, experienced animators are the masters of the trade, but how can 3D Animation be of use to internet site developer? Website designers can easily create dramatic 3D animations through a number of 3d packages. SideFX Houdini, Maya, Softimage XSI, Lightwave and Luxology Modo are high end programs mostly picked by professionals. But internet site developer may even go for much simpler programs like 3D GIF Designer, 3D Canvas and 3d flash animator can help them carry out their tasks much easier. The selection of software depends primarily on the requirements, but packages with simple interface and covering maximum features in one package would be more appropriate for web page designer.
If you wish to use 3D animation as the content for your internet page, you could settle for software with simple features and an easy and accessible user interface. 3D Animations have become an effective communication method of our century and can be a potential source of traffic enhancement for web developers as computer software have brought this technology into their access. This technology allows you to explore new horizons on whatever front it can be utilized. It is up to you to take advantage of it.
